As much as I'll sentimentally miss the old building, the new one is incredible. Aesthetically pleasing and well laid out, with spaces for study, computer use that doesn't look crammed in, oh, and did I mention even MORE room for books and media - plus an exceptionally helpful staff?

This was a great step up.

I live about 20 minutes from this library. I am in North Racine County. I was told by library staff that I could use my card here. I spent over an hour here with my kids, they picked a stack of books out and when I went to check out my card was denied. Because I don't live in Milwaukee county I would have to pay $80 to become a member. Thanks for making my kids cry.

Clean and beautiful facility with a great variety of books and movies!

The Oak Creek branch is a beautiful, brand new facility, and the centerpiece of the new Drexel Town Square. They have an excellent selection of CDs and DVDs, but the book selection is a bit out of date at times, and they're not open on Sundays. Franklin, although a little bit further, seems to get the new books first, and is open on Sundays. Now, where the Oak Creek Library seems to excel is its programming for the community. There are quiet study rooms, activities for families with children, and for all of you supporting your aging parents as they learn new technology, they have days where any adult can bring in any device, and a librarian will help them learn how to use it.

I practically grew up at the old library. It worked for what the city used to be, but with the way the city had grown and technology had become such a part of everything, it looked like it was struggling to keep up.

Amazing children's section, best I've ever been to. Great book selection that's easy for kids to see and choose books from. Large play room with toys for babies and toddlers and other areas for older children. Plus a life size train, what could be better?
